Shipping Methods for Heavy Cargo
🚢 Break-Bulk
Loose cargo loaded directly into the vessel's hold. Best for extremely large or heavy items that don't fit in containers. Common for machinery, steel beams, and construction materials.
Typical transit: 25–35 days
🚢 Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off)
Vehicles and self-propelled machinery drive on and off the vessel. Ideal for cars, trucks, buses, tractors, and construction vehicles. No container needed.
Typical transit: 22–30 days
🚢 Flat Rack / Open Top
Specialized containers without sides (flat rack) or with removable roof (open top). Perfect for oversized machinery, pipes, and tall equipment.
Typical transit: 22–28 days
🚢 Project Charter
For large-scale projects requiring multiple pieces of equipment. Full project management — from initial logistics planning to on-site delivery in Tanzania.

Important Information
Heavy machinery and vehicles require additional documentation: Certificate of Roadworthiness, TBS Standards Mark, and in some cases, Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC). We handle the full paperwork.
For an accurate heavy cargo quote, we need: weight, length × width × height, configuration (skid-mounted, wheeled, tracked), and any lifting points or hazardous components.
Customs duties for machinery and vehicles vary. We can provide a landed cost estimate including duty, VAT, and port charges before you ship.
